Yes, honey. And nothing more.

We all have them.  Those bad days where we need someone (namely our spouse) to cut us a little slack.  Mine happened a few weeks ago, on a day I wasn't feeling particularly well.  I had a bad headache, I was stressed out by all of the places we were supposed to be, and I was releasing my stress by being bossy.

Dave was taking it pretty well, and putting up with my bossiness for the most part.  But he did have to throw in a few smart aleck-y comments here and there.  Finally I turned to him and said, "Dave, today is one of those days where I need you just to say, "yes, honey."  Okay?"  He replied "Yes, honey," and was about to say something else.  I turned to him and pointedly said, "And nothing more."

From then on every time I would dole out a set of instructions about what I thought we should do or if I told Dave to do something, he would sweetly reply (with a little twinkle in his eye), "Yes, honey.  And nothing more."  And then he would do it.  Even though I was very bossy.  And demanding.  And perhaps a little authoritarian.

We all have those days where we just need our spouse to say, "Yes, honey.  And nothing more."  Dave gave me mine.  And Dave has one of those days coming his way very soon . . .

Thanks, honey.  And nothing more.  :)
